Card Meanings

St. Jude

It may all feel hopeless when this card shows up. There is despair and lots of negativity in the air.

It is time to monitor your reactions to things, watch your attitudes and beliefs. They are more than just words, you need to understand how you put the power behind them.

Look at the definition of hopelessness another way, through someone else’s eyes.

St. Bernadette

A beautiful card to pull that talks to you about healing and hope.

The path may be a little bumpy, but when this card comes up, it is to let you know that you are not alone. Support, whether physical or spiritual is within your grasp.

There is also optimism around new journeys. Family and friends are very important now.

St. Scholastica

Change, transformation, a rebirth.

This card shows a quick separation, a divine intervention. Your old ways are swept away, making room for new energies to help you move forward along your path.

The Saint Deck Illustrations

The illustrations for the deck of fifty saint cards were given through invocations, meditations, and prayer with each saint. The final images on each card turned out to be an eclectic combination of figures, objects and animals. The face of each card has the saint’s name printed on the bottom, with the feast day on top. Words along each side are ticklers that can help the reader to interpret the cards.

We did not plan to incorporate the major or minor arcana from the traditional tarot into The Saint Deck, we even decided against it, but found out that the saints had other plans. We were shown that twenty-one of the cards in this deck correlated with the major arcana of a traditional tarot, as well as one card that would signify the fool.

The deck includes instructional cards that give you a brief background on the history of the saints, and each individual saint’s patronage, our intuitive interpretation and the relation to the major arcana, if any. To experience the full array of 50 wonderful cards, purchase the Saint Deck today!

Methods of Reading

The cards may be used intuitively or in the traditional method of card readings consisting of laying out a spread. We do not mention the translation of reverse cards, because we believe the way a reverse card is read is a personal choice. We have found through use of the cards and feedback from other readers, that the one card draw works extremely well with The Saint Deck. Simply pull a card to predict your day as you might with a conventional tarot deck. The miraculous difference is, you not only receive a forecast, but the energy of the saint that you need to assist you through the day. No conventional tarot can offer this kind of empowerment!

St. Simeon Stylites the Elder

Hermit January 5 b. 390; d. 459

Patronages Shepherds

St. SimeonSimeon was the son of a Sicilian shepherd and was also a shepherd as a child. Simeon was fascinated with the Bible and was taught that the only way one could achieve real happiness was through prayer and selflessness.

He followed a life that included fasting from food and practicing other forms of denial. He spent two years in one monastery and then became a monk at a stricter monastery. He began to discipline himself so harshly that it almost killed him.

St.Simeon only ate once a week, giving the rest of his food to the poor and bound his body with a tight cord that cut into his skin. Living the life of a hermit, Simeon lived at first in a cave and then moved to the top of a mountain. There he chained himself to a rock, until he learned that all he needed was a firm will, and he would be able to stay in this state without shackles.

With this card, we learn about integrating the material and spiritual elements of the world. A healthy life consists of both the physical and spiritual aspects in balance. Be careful that you don’t have your head too far in the clouds or that you don’t feel like being alone too much of the time. The Traditional Tarot Equivalent is The Hermit.  To learn even more about Simeon Stylites, purchase The Saint Deck Book today!
