The illustrations for the deck of fifty saint cards were given through invocations, meditations and prayer with each saint. The final images on each card turned out to be an eclectic combination of figures, objects and animals. The face of each card has the saint’s name printed on the bottom, with the feast day on top. Words along each side are ticklers that can help the reader to interpret the cards. 

We did not plan to incorporate the major or minor arcana from the traditional tarot into The Saint Deck, we even decided against it, but found out that the saints had other plans. We were shown that twenty-one of the cards in this deck correlated with the major arcana of a traditional tarot, as well as one card that would signify the fool.

The deck includes instructional cards that give you a brief background on the history of the saints, and each individual saint’s patronage, our intuitive interpretation and the relation to the major arcana, if any.

Methods of Reading

The cards may be used intuitively or in the traditional method of card readings consisting of laying out a spread. We do not mention the translation of reverse cards, because we believe the way a reverse card is read is a personal choice. We have found through use of the cards and feedback from other readers, that the one card draw works extremely well with The Saint Deck. Simply pull a card to predict your day as you might with a conventional tarot deck. The miraculous difference is, you not only receive a forecast, but the energy of the saint that you need to assist you through the day. No conventional tarot can offer this kind of empowerment!
